HP GPS and Location is a system component for select HP PCs that enables accurate device location for Windows and compatible applications. It coordinates data from built‑in hardware (such as GPS receivers on supported models) and available network signals to determine your position, so apps like maps, weather, and find‑my‑device can work reliably. The service runs in the background and follows your operating system’s location permissions and privacy settings.

Key features:

  • Provides location data to Windows and supported apps via standard system interfaces
  • Uses hardware GPS (where available) and network-based signals to improve accuracy
  • Honors OS-level privacy controls; you can enable or disable location access system‑wide
  • Designed to be power‑aware to minimize battery impact
  • Supports common location use cases such as navigation, nearby search, geo‑tagging, and automatic time zone updates

Notes:

  • Availability and accuracy depend on your specific HP model, hardware configuration, and environment
  • An internet connection can improve location determination on some devices
  • For updates and compatibility information, check Windows Update or your HP support resources
